Seismic Retrofitting

The city of Seattle is in the process of adopting legislation requiring the seismic retrofitting of all unreinforced masonry buildings throughout the city. By as early as 2014, building owners will be required to retrofit their URM buildings making them safer and less vulnerable to damage in the event of an earthquake. Prior to those requirements CHG Building Systems has worked closely with several owners, property managers and general contractors to develop strategies, feasibility studies and budgets. We have completed numerous retrofit projects in Pioneer Square, Columbia City, Chinatown International District, Capitol Hill and Ballard.
